East Aurora
In the Fall of 2003, Community 4:12 began a partnership with Brady Elementary School in East Aurora, a port of entry Hispanic community. We shared a vision with the school's principal of transforming the community around his school. Using the school as our ministry hub, we started several outreach programs including: tutoring, mentoring, a Christmas Gift Mart and other community events, artists workshops, family movie nights and parent mentoring. In January, 2010 we launched a bilingual church campus in downtown Aurora.
Over the years we have expanded our partnership to include several other schools in the district, a number of churches, non-profits, and the city government. We have broadened our work to include a home-ownership program. Several families from Community Christian Church have relocated into East Aurora neighborhoods to facilitate our community development initiatives.
