FAQs

Have you read our description and still don't quite understand what Celebrate the Journey is all about?  Maybe you might be willing to check us out after you read our reverse interview by someone totally new to C the J.

Q: So what exactly is Celebrate the Journey? The short, short version... like one that you can twitter...

A: It is a safe and supportive community with small groups to help you get through tough times in your life.

Q: So, its not just a bunch of 12 step groups and divorced people?

A: While we do have a spiritual 12 step group and a Divorce Care group, all of the rest of our groups are based on other Biblical based books that are geared towards helping you in rough patches in life.

Q: Oh, so do you have a group for abused children, or grief, or (insert your own specific need here)?

A: While we may not offer specific groups for exactly what you are going through, we believe that you can find a good fit in one of our options.  Many times you may find that our groups will address your needs without being very specific.

Q: I noticed that your session has already started, is it too late to join?

A: No, it is never too late to join. We believe you can still benefit even if it is our last group of the session!

Q: What if I don't like it, do I have to keep coming back?

A: Of course not!  This is not a commitment.  However, we suggest if you don't like the group you attended, that you come back and try a different group, either next week, or whenever you can.

Q: So this is all confidential right?  People can't talk about it to anyone?

A: Correct! We have rules to make it safe (ground rules)  and what happens in group, stays in group.  That includes our large group time.

Q: What exactly is large group? Do I have to participate?

A: We would like everyone to come in and have a seat.  We play some songs, and you can stay sitting, or you can stand, or you can stand and clap and sing, it doesn't matter, however you feel comfortable.  Then we get either a teaching or a testimony, both of which are inspirational in whatever you are going through.

Q: Do I have to share my story?

A: No, but when you feel you want to, just speak to your leader about it and we can give you more details then.

Q: So what about this God and Jesus thing? I mean, I am not sure if I believe all of that.

A: That is okay.  C the J is a place where you can come as you are.  We want you to feel comfortable exploring where you are at, and that includes in faith.  While all of the leaders here at Celebrate the Journey believe that Jesus is the answer, you won't be looked down upon if you don't feel that way. In fact, you will find that you are not alone on that boat.

Q: Maybe I have a friend who needs to come, what do I do?

A: Don't just invite them, come with them! You might find you get something out of it too.
