Lakepoint Church Launches This Fall

NewThing is a catalyst for a movement of reproducing churches relentlessly dedicated to helping people find their way back to God. Thanks to your generosity more and more churches are continually being planted through NewThing.
Lakepoint Church (Muskego, WI) is being planted this Fall because four local churches in the Milwaukee area partnered together – four NewThing Churches are providing the vision, manpower and financial resources to make this possible. Through their mutual commitment to the NewThing Network, Brooklife Church, Riverglen Christian Church, The Ridge Community Church, and Legacy Christian Church are raising the bar on what it means to be open-handed and team-oriented in church planting. 

I think it all snowballs from there; The five of us are already dreaming toward what the next plant will look like, as well as the next plant after that.  Not wanting to miss out on the fun, we at Lakepoint have already begun apprenticing our first leadership resident and hopefully a future church planter.  The vision is contagious!

I quickly learned during our pre-launch phase that the strength and generosity of the NewThing is much wider than the local conversations I was having.  In my search to furnish our church, I came across some used equipment for sale through 2|42 Community Church.  After some email dialog back and forth about the equipment, it came out that we were both NewThing Churches.  In no time the conversation turned away from sales prices to, “When can you come pick them up?”  In their excitement for the start of another NewThing Church, 2|42 Community Church simply handed us a truck, two trailers, and 15 Portable Church cases!  This was different.  This extended family was something pretty special.

Whether it’s our local hub or the extended family of NewThing, these guys are in fact special.  Full of thanks, Lakepoint Church can only hope to add to the great things already going on with NewThing!
