Community 4:12 Director

Kirsten is Director of Community 4:12, the compassion and justice ministry of Community Christian Church. A clinical psychologist by training, Kirsten developed a passion for at-risk youth when working in Baltimore, Maryland. She, her husband Scott, and their two sons moved to Naperville in 1999. They immediately noticed the huge economic and cultural disparity between Naperville and East Aurora, a community just 15 minutes away and a disparity that she believed Christ-followers could not ignore. She developed Community 4:12 as a ministry to address educational, economic, and cultural differences and inequalities between affluent and under-resourced communities. Kirsten’s husband Scott left his corporate career in 2004 to become an elementary school teacher in East Aurora, and they relocated to East Aurora in 2007 with their sons, Erik and Brian, who are now both students at East Aurora High School.
