Created for Community

Week 1 | You are Wired for Connection

March 27, 2022

Big Idea

We’re created for community. We’re wired for connection. We experience community in a small group.

Scripture

Acts 2:42-47

Opening Questions

  1. Whom have you been able to B.L.E.S.S. recently? Whom might you B.L.E.S.S. this week?
  2. What is one of your hobbies?
  3. God has created us to live in community with others. So, we want to be a community of faith that lives out the way of Jesus together. What do you think it takes to be a community that lives out the way of Jesus?

Bible Discussion

  1. Read Acts 2:42-47. What do you notice about these passages? How would you summarize the life they shared?
  2. What similarities and differences do you see between this early community of believers and churches today? In what way could the church in Acts be an example for us today?
  3. Read John 13:34-35. Jesus wanted his disciples to see a pattern in his life for their own. So what patterns did Jesus exhibit in his life? Discuss those as a group. What patterns do you see in the life of Jesus that model how we might love others well?

Life Application

  1. In what ways have you felt loved and cared for in our small group?
  2. What is one way we can keep growing as a loving community?
  3. In what way can we show love to others outside our group? How might this push us outside of our comfort zones? You might check out the Community Cares website for some ideas.
