Genetically Generous

Week 3 | What’s Your Generosity Profile? Part 2

July 9, 2023

Big Idea

We’re all wired for generosity, but we express it in various ways.

Scripture

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Opening Questions

  1. What gift have you received that you will always treasure?
  2. Generosity has the power to turn the world upside down. In what ways, large or small, have you seen generosity make a difference in the life of a person, family or community?

Bible Discussion

  1. Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. How would you put this passage into your own words?
  2. According to verse 8, what does Paul say about God’s ability to provide abundantly for all our needs? How does this encourage us to trust in God’s provision

Life Application

  1. If you haven’t taken the generosity survey at mygenprofile.com, please do so now. Once you’ve completed the assessment, click on your profile descriptions. Make sure to read all the sections of your profile, including the shadow side, the growth challenge and the challenge verse.
  2. God wants generosity for us, not from us. This means God wants us to experience the joy of generosity rather than treating generosity as a duty. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 representing duty and 10 representing joy, how would you describe your relationship with generosity? Describe.
  3. How have you experienced the 2 Corinthians reaping and sowing principle in your life and in your relationships with others.

Challenge

We hope all of us are encouraged to recognize how we are wired to reflect our generous God. Every one of these profiles is good! Understanding how we are wired can help us grow into people who sow generously. The hope and prayer for this series is that we become more generous, just like the One who gave everything for us.
