Who We Are
COMMUNITY’s Mission is helping people find their way back to God. We accomplish this by reaching people far from God, restoring God’s dream for the world, and reproducing this mission in others.
Celebrate, Connect, Contribute
At COMMUNITY, there are three key relationships that help you develop a growing relationship with Jesus:
Celebrate: Me & God – We gather every weekend to celebrate what God is doing as we yield our lives more fully to Him.
Connect: Me & The Church – We build relationships with others and experience biblical community through small groups.
Contribute: Me & The World – We contribute our time, talents and resources to further the Jesus Mission in our communities and in the world.
Reach, Restore, Reproduce
Reaching those who are far from God – Small groups invite us to live out and serve the Jesus Mission together in community. You can join, host and even lead small groups. For information, contact your location pastor.
Reproducing the mission in others – NewThing is a catalyst for movements of reproducing churches relentlessly dedicated to helping people find their way back to God.
COMMUNITY is a church that began as the dream of 5 friends from college who wanted to create a place that would help people find their way back to God. Services were first held in the Naperville Central High School cafeteria, and 8 years later COMMUNITY launched its first additional location in Romeoville, IL. COMMUNITY’s vision is three-fold. To be: 1) An Impact Church – A church that will have a lasting impact on the people and places we engage. 2) A Reproducing Church – A church that will start new campuses and churches all over the world. 3) A Catalyst for a Movement – In 2001, COMMUNITY formed NewThing, a church-planting mission that now includes over 150 churches all over the world.
COMMUNITY is one church with locations all over Chicagoland reaching people who are far from God, restoring God’s dream for the world and reproducing that mission in others. In 1997 COMMUNITY was holding services at one location in Naperville when a local developer asked if they would consider moving their church to a new community development in Romeoville. Rather than move, the leadership decided to start a second location, thus creating our Romeoville Campus. Today COMMUNITY is considered one of the pioneers of Multi-Site ministry with multiple locations all across Chicagoland.
