An Important Announcement About the School for the Arts

By Christine Tuck, School for the Arts Director

It's been a wonderful year at School for the Arts. We've enjoyed and celebrated recitals, dance competitions and public performances. We've welcomed new students and grown our veterans. As we look back on this year, we also look ahead to the future; and as we do, I wanted to let you know about some important changes.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with School for the Arts. I've spent countless hours not only teaching but also directing this exciting program of helping people find their back to God through arts education. It is time now for me to be at home with my own family and so after much prayer and thought I have decided to step down as director of COMMUNITY’s School for the Arts. I thank all of you for your interest, support and prayer as look to where God is leading.

In a similar fashion, the training of artists through Community Christian Church will be changing as well. As of May 27, 2011, the formal conducting of classes through the School for the Arts has ended. Makeup lessons for the Spring Semester will take place in June. As you may have been aware, we are not offering any programs this summer, and we will not resume lessons or classes in Fall 2011. Training for artists is and will continue to be a focus for Community Christian Church. The School for the Arts as it is currently organized needs to change, and the best way for that to happen is through a ceasing of our current efforts.

For those of you interested in continuing your student’s training through our current cadre of teachers, I encourage you to look over the list below of private lesson teachers who are finishing the semester with us and who will be available to teach this summer and fall in their own studios. Our teachers are very familiar with each other’s strengths, and would be able to assist you in finding the perfect fit for your student in this next season of training.

Until then, pray for discernment and direction as we begin a new phase of arts training ministry here at Community. If you have any questions about the upcoming transition for School for the Arts, please contact Community’s Creative Arts Director, Eric Bramlett / ericbramlett@communitychristian.org.

Thank you again for your involvement and continued support of COMMUNITY’s School for the Arts. I trust that God will "direct our paths as we acknowledge Him in all our ways" Proverbs 3:15.

Christine Tuck School for the Arts Director
